The first time I saw…
Light flashed bright.
Jolt shot through.
Blinked. Stunned.
Warmth turned cold.
Seized by fear,
I fought back.
Kicked. Screamed.
At least, I think I did.
Braced for it.
Faced new life.
A blur.

The Trifextra 100 challenge this week is as follows:
We are asking for a 33-word response to the following snippet:
The first time I saw. . .
Here’s the catch: all of your 33 words must be one syllable each. We’re going low-brow on you this week. Or not. Can you class it up under these restrictions? Give us your best.
To clarify, we are giving you 5 words. We want another 33 from you, for a grand total of 38.

What a great beyond… sounds like birth
Thank you, Bjorn, for assuring me I met my dual-birth mark.
the hardest part of a journey is that first step. Kicking and screaming aside.
what a way to start again. I loved this Jody.
ah, it’s my angelic friend, Kir – always an encouraging guide! xo
Always here, in spirit and in heart my beautiful friend. XO
It sounds uplifting. Beautiful words.
Thank you, Joe.
I like the challenge of this piece. The confusion of it. Indeed, the blur.
Thanks, Kelly. 🙂
I love the blur. We kick and stream sometimes though know first steps and change are necessary. So very creative!!!
So true. And thanks, Gina. 🙂
This was a clever piece of writing and profound. ♥
Thank you, Kathy. 🙂
Sounds like a come back. Kicking and screaming, without quite knowing why. Way to rock it, Jody!
Clueless often describes my acts, Kymm. Ha! Thanks for stopping in. 🙂
Nothing light and airy about this piece! Your writing always seems to inspire and move us. This piece is no exception. Nicely done, Jody. 🙂
That’s how I would’ve described you, Tom. Thanks for your kindness, as always.
Ooh, intriguing. I love the short, sharp sentences. Brilliantly written. 🙂
gosh, thanks 🙂
Ah… so you’ve been doing some re-birthing?
and some dying to myself, yes 🙂
You definitely wrote like a human triumphant! 🙂
thanks for touching my soul with that one tiny comment, Rexie 🙂
